How famous is Haikyuu in Japan?


The Haikyuu manga began serialization in the 12th issue of Weekly Shōnen Jump on February 20, 2012 and ended in issues 33-34 of Weekly Shōnen Jump on July 20, 2020.

Due to the huge popularity, Shueisha compiled the chapters into individual tankōbon volumes, as of August 4, 2020, 44 volumes have been published. In addition, Shueisha released the manga in English on the Manga Plus website and app in January 2019.

Radio drama

Continuing the wave of popularity, a Radio drama series was broadcast in November 2012 on TV Tokyo’s Sakiyomi Jum-Bang!, and then released on Shueisha’s Vomic website.


An attractive manga like Haikyuu must definitely be adapted into a Haikyuu anime movie. So far the anime haikyuu has aired to the 4th season, showing its appeal to the public.

Video games

Haikyuu!! Tsunage! Itadaki no Keshiki and Haikyuu!! Cross Team Match is the favorite video game released on the Nintendo 3DS. In addition, Haikyuu also released the cross game Jump J-Stars Victory VS for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita.
